W. Paul Nicholson, who founded Paul's Pest Control, received his bachelors in entomology from the University of Florida in 1958. He worked for Orkin Pest Control company for 12 years and founded his namesake company in 1971. With help from family and loyal employees, he built it up to one of the largest pest control operations in the capital region of Florida. He also established the colorful Nicholson Farmhouse Restaurant in Quincy, which is housed in a collection of old historical houses dating back to the 1800s.
A man of great integrity and quiet inspiration, Paul died tragically in an automobile accident in May, 1999. His legacy of community service and business ethics lives on through the family members, management and employees who continue to operate Paul's Pest Control.
In January 2001 the company was purchased by Blair H. Burton and Kent D. Edmunds.
